I'm really looking forward to being out of school for the summer. I like staying up late every night and watching Conan O'Brien or watching movies until like 3am. Waking up whenever I feel like it and not doing anything or going to hang out with friends all day. But this summer I won't be able to do that as much because of my job at Moviestop. But I don't care. I'm making money and I desperately need it.
I'm going to England in the winter for Christmas break. My parents are paying for the plane tickets, but I'm paying for everything I'm doing there. I'm going to be flying over by myself to my grandparent's house in Wargrave, England. My brother will be over there for Christmas too because he's staying in Paris for next semester.
I'll probably be doing a lot of stuff on my own, but I really like that idea. I need to start doing things on my own so I'll be ready for after college when my parents aren't going to do much for me. My mom is not ready to let me do any of this though. But I think after I've been away to college for a couple months, she'll get used to it.
I've been planning a trip to Liverpool while I'm in England. I have to take a train there and the trip could last from either 4 hours to 12 hours depending on when I leave and the lay-overs in between train departures. The 4 hour trip would be ideal. But of course, I was looking at fares in July. I couldn't look at fares for past August, but I don't think it would be much different. Hopefully the prices don't go up due to the holidays.
I'll have to get a hotel while I'm in Liverpool, but those are EXTREMELY expensive. So I'll probably be staying at a guesthouse or a hostel. The cheapest place I saw was 12 pounds a night which is REALLY cheap for me and that is fantastic. Maybe if my grandparents have a friend in Liverpool, I could stay with them for free! I need to look into that. I need to e-mail my grandparents with my plans for Liverpool.
I want to do the All Day Beatles tour while in Liverpool. That's the only reason I'm going to Liverpool lol. That city is a port city and there are tons of shipyards and it is very industrious. My dad says it's pretty ugly to look at, but the history there is awesome. My dad lived in England for the first 20 years of his life, so I'll take his word, but I'm still going there. No doubt. I also want to hear everyone around me talking in a Liverpudlian accent. I LOVE THAT ACCENT! :)
I found a website that gives the Beatles tour. It's pretty expensive for the All-Day one, but I'm doing it. I want to see everything there is to see. I might even get a second job so I'll have enough money. I'll ask my dad if there are any chairs that need caning this summer. Because I can get $80 plus for each chair. I'll also ask for more hours at work over the summer. I'll also most likely get a job in Athens when I go to college. I'll save money from graduation too. The only other expenditure that I'm making this summer is for the American Idol tour. I MUST SEE JASON CASTRO. I love him.
So the theme of this summer is: MAKE. MONEY. NOW.

Wow
It has been a LONG time since I last wrote in this this. A lot has happened. Fiddler on the Roof is over and everybody loved it. We had another show The Learned Ladies that ended last Saturday. I was in it and had a pretty big role. But it was my last show and I'm glad it's over lol. We had a project in AP European that took up most of my life. We had to study for 32 hours for the AP exam which is on Friday. My AP Calculus exam is tomorrow and I am freaking out. I'm just accepting that fact that I'm going to get a 1 lol.
I got a job though! At Moviestop. I'm pretty psyched about it. All the people who work there are really nice. I need to buy my uniform though. I opened a checking account on Saturday so my paychecks can go into it. I'll finally have some money!! But I have to let them know that I'll be gone for a lot of June, what with Bonnaroo and the beach.
Speaking of Bonnaroo... it turns out that my roommate for next year is going too! So we're going to try and meet up there. It's going to be so awesome!! It's getting pretty close too! I'll finally be 18 by the time that rolls around. But my mom will still treat me the same way... like a 7 year old. She won't even let me go to Atlanta with some friends to see a movie in IMAX. Ridiculous. I can't wait to go to college to escape her chokehold that she has on me.
I found out fantastic news about the DMB concert in July. TIM REYNOLDS WILL BE WITH THEM THE ENTIRE TOUR. I cannot believe that I'll be seeing Tim Reynolds!! OMG! I'm going with David, Will, and probably some of Will's college friends. I paid my dad back for the ticket plus the overages from my cellphone bill Saturday while getting my checking account... $77. Ouch. But my dad has FINALLY agreed to get us unlimited texting! WOO!!
AHH! The new Coldplay single is amazing. I can't wait for their new album. And hopefully the tour that follows the release. Since I'll be making money this summer, I'll be able to go to more concerts. Hopefully, my roomie will go with me to the Coldplay concert! I want there to be a new Third Eye Blind CD soon.
Graduation is in like 15 days. I CANNOT WAIT.

Music
Well, my summer plans have changed yet again. Since Dave Matthews Band is coming to Atlanta on July 7th, I'm going to go to England for winter break. haha. Yes, I care about DMB that much! I just need to find people to go with pretty soon so I can buy my tickets the day they go on sale, which is March 29th. My brother might go, but he has to start saving up money for Paris. I'll probably end up going with the Darnells again lol. Jake might go too! It was fun last time at Piedmont Park.
Speaking of concerts, I hope John Mayer announces his summer tour soon. My mom and I will probably go to that. That's kind of our thing now haha. I don't care if she goes as long as I get to go and we get good seats. I don't know if we'll be able to beat our 5th row seats from last August, but still maybe floor seats? I want John Mayer Trio to tour soon!! That would be soooo awesome!
Bonnaroo is coming up slowly but surely!! I'm am soooo excited for that. More and more artists are being added to the line-up and The Disco Biscuits was one of them!! I love them. I'm still really excited to go to Kanye West's show haha. Glow in the dark is going to be awesome. DJ Pope is going! haha. Meredith and Kaitlin haven't bought their tickets yet I don't think. I hope they aren't sold out by the time they can buy them!!
Coldplay's new CD is supposed to come out this year! And so is Third Eye Blind's. I really can't wait for them. I still need to buy Radiohead's In Rainbows. I was going to try to get Radiohead tickets since they are coming to Atlanta this year, but the price was ridiculously high. Like over 1000 dollars. I'm sorry, but I don't like them THAT much lol.
It's a good thing that my parents are paying for Bonnaroo. That was over 200 dollars. But I'll have to pay for DMB, but that's okay! I CAN'T wait to see them again! :)

It's Been A While
I really haven't had anything to write about in a while. Mock Trial was taking over my life, but it's over now. We had our competition on February 23. I was really nervous for the first match, but after that I was okay. I did a British accent for my character and I actually won an Outstanding Witness award for the first round. Second round went well and FPD made it to the final round with Central who had won it 9 years in a row. They were really good! I met Ekene Agu, who is friends with my friends from church, and she was really nice. We lost, but they deserved it. They were awesome and VERY intimidating lol. One of their teammates looked like Mac from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I wanted to tell him, but I never got the chance to. :(
Fiddler on the Roof is going okay. We started rehearsing with the actors last week. The first night was HORRIBLE. But the next night was muuuuch better. The music isn't too hard. It's very Jewish sounding, which is the whole show, but still. So there are lots of accidentals in the music and weird phrasing. But it's coming together nicely.
I finished reading The Other Boleyn Girl on Saturday so I could see the movie. The movie was AWFUL. Did not follow the book hardly at all. But Jim Sturgess was SO cute in it! I fell in love with him from Across The Universe as Jude. :) He has another movie coming out soon called 21 and it has Kevin Spacey in it too. I love Kevin! Oh, and since I'm done with that book, I started reading a Jimi Hendrix biography. It's really good so far. Jimi's about 14 years old and has his first guitar! Aw yeah!
I started making a 1960's collage last night when I was mad at my step-mom. I had an old Rolling Stone magazine that talked all about the Summer of Love (1967) and I started cutting stuff out and kind of piecing it together. It's got Bob Dylan, The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. There's also a huge Beatles thing that'll hopefully look cool.
We have a HUGE English research paper due at the end of this month. I chose to write about the shadow of the soul and the duality of man using Heart Of Darkness, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and Fight Club. In theory, it should be an awesome topic and an interesting paper. But the only thing that stands in the way of that is me actually typing it into a comprehensible paper lol. We're going to the Mercer library tomorrow all day to research in there. I get to miss school ALL day Tuesday for that and all day Thursday for a band competition. What really sucks though about Thursday is that I have a Psychology test and a Calculus quiz that day. So I'll have to make those up.
My mom bought my Bonnaroo tickets while I was on my ski trip in February! I'll have a different post for the ski trip. Well, not about the ski trip, but what happened after the ski trip. Our youth pastor went psycho, but like I said... that's another post. Along with information about some other things that are REALLY ticking me off lol. ANYWHO... Bonnaroo is going to own my soul. Jose Gonzalez! :) And more artists are being added! Woooo!
I saw Gone Baby Gone and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford on Saturday. I had a Casey Affleck mini-marathon. I love that guy! Both those movies ROCKED. I need to buy those, and No Country For Old Men, Sweeney Todd, There Will Be Blood, and I want to see Into The Wild really bad.
So many movies!!!

Near the end...
Why is it I feel closer to my schoolmates towards the end of my highschool career? People who used to make my life a living hell are being nice to me and joking around with me now. Why couldn't they have skipped those awful, tormenting feelings towards me and just have been nice to me the whole time? Now it's getting harder to leave the school. I still want to get the hell out of there, but now I think I'm going to miss it some. Spirit Week was really fun and I wish that I had had a better outlook on my classmates throughout high school. I won't be bawling my eyes out like some girls haha, but I'll be sad.
Bonnaroo tickets go on sale in exactly ONE WEEK and I am excited! Kanye West is going to amazing. And all the other acts too. Hopefully, Kings of Leon and all the others I want will be added to the line-up later. Kaitlin, Katelyn, and Meredith are going to carpool with Eric, John, and me. Hopefully, it'll be an awesome experience. While I'm in college, I'll probably try to go to more music festivals. It costs a TON of money though.
Speaking of money, I spent 40 bucks at Moviestop today. I got Harry Potter 3, Pirates 3, Count of Monte Cristo, and Little Miss Sunshine. I just watched Monte Cristo and I had forgotten how awesome it is. I saw that in theaters when it came out in like 2002. I traded in Empire Records and Boy Meets World Season 1 and only got 8 dollars worth of store credit though. I thought that was kind of... low. Every time I go into Moviestop, the same guys are working and they pretty much know what movies I like and they started reccommending them to me today haha. So maybe when I get my license back in April, I can apply for a job there and get it since they, like, know me. But then again, Kaitlin applied for a job there and got turned down for not having any "stocking experience" so who knows?
Mock Trial is almost over. Thank the Lord. David and I were cross examined and direct examined by two lawyer interns who have been to law school and everything. It was really scary lol. I hated every second of it, but I think I did okay. I just can't wait for it to be over. Fiddler on the Roof is getting better though, which is good. I have to transpose some of the music from alto flute to flute though, which is really tedious to do on his computer. I'm so glad I'm not doing track though. My schedule is full enough!
I'm going to North Carolina next weekend for President's weekend with my youth group. That ought to be fun. I feel bad because as part of going to Bonnaroo, my mom is making me go with the family to Myrtle Beach and not go on my last summer mission trip with the youth group. But Bonnaroo is worth it lol.
By the way, John Mayer is looking better and better every day...

Famous Graves Around the World
These are the graves of Duane Allman (left) and Berry Oakley (right). I took this picture yesterday at Rosehill Cemetary which is about 3 miles from my house. Surprisingly, as much as I love the Allman Brothers Band, I'd never been to their graves before yesterday!
But, a while ago, I decided that one summer, I'm going to travel the world and visit famous gravesites. I've already got a loooong list going. I'll have to travel all over the US and then hop on planes to go to places like Italy, Australia, England, and France.
The main grave I want to visit is Jim Morrison's in Paris. After reading a book about Jim Morrison, I really wanted to see his grave. And that started a chain reaction leading to a list of over 30 graves to visit. The list includes people such as James Dean, Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Chris Farley, John Bonham, Andy Warhol, and (added VERY recently) Heath Ledger. I'll need to save up a TON of money to fly to Australia, but I really want to see his grave.
Some of the people's graves I wanted to see don't have graves! They've been cremated! Like Marlon Brando, Janis Joplin, and Jerry Garcia. But for the most part, I'm finding a lot of people's graves, thanks to findagrave.com. haha.
I'm going to England this summer, so maybe I can convince my dad to let me go searching for the graves of the people in England. There's only four (so far). There's Princess Diana, Keith Moon (even though he was cremated, his ashes were spread in a plot at a church cemetary), John Bonham, and Brian Jones. Maybe if I save up money, I can ride the Chunnel to Paris for like two days so I can see Jim Morrison's grave! That way, I'd already have most of the graves visited before I set out on my own! That would save me a lot of time AND money.
Well, two graves down, about 30 more to go!

Me Being a Total Girl
So it's really nice to be flirted with hahaha. It boosts the ole self-esteem up pretty high to be quite honest. At the Starcadia lock-in, I was helping some friends pick out what to get for their tickets and the 2 guys up there started making fun of me! So I called them on it and it's all downhill from there haha. One of them wasn't too cute... he had half a thumb. I'm not even lying!! But the other guy was pretty cute. :) HAHA. I love being a complete loser. And I looked like CRAP tonight. I rode the go-karts and my hair was all messy and gross, I had a wooly hat on, and I was in a sweatshirt. But still I guess I radiated self-confidence and I was able to pull off full flirt mode.
It kinda reminds me of a boy I REALLLLLLLY liked in 10th grade. He was a senior. I was still in my awkward years. I mean, AWKWARD years. I had acne, braces, unkempt hair, the works. Yet, he still wanted to hang out with me and he texted me and IM'd me all the time. I guess because I kinda know who I am and I just act like myself. He laughed genuinely at all my jokes. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I think I'm a pretty funny person. I've got good timing with my jokes and all that. And if a guy tries to make me look dumb, I reverse it on them haha. Sometimes it works, and other times it backfires completely. Like tonight. I was asking what I could get for like 10 tickets and the cute guy said "Lots of candy!" and I was hyper enough so I said, "Ugh.. I don't need candy..." To which he replies, "Well, we have hummus!" I have no idea what that is, and I told him this. "It was a joke, we really don't have that.." "Ha... great joke!" "It would have been had you known what hummus was!" haha. I guess you have to be there.
What I'm saying is... it's nice to be noticed. :)
